So, how do you keep in the realm of cuteness when drawing cute little flower doodles?
Here are a few quick points to keep in mind when you’re making these types of easy floral doodles.
Tips for Drawing Cute Little Flower Doodles:
- Keep your floral doodles tiny & small
- Try making them look cartoony
- Do this by exaggerating proportions like making the petals more rounded or bigger in comparison to the stem
- Simplify the floral forms by using simple shapes like ovals, circles, etc.
- Stay away from too much detail
- You can imply details by adding a simple line or two to indicate thickness, curvature of petals, or even a couple dots for a flower’s receptacle – but anything more and it’ll look too complicated, crossing over into realism – unless that’s what you’e going for!
- Keep them quick by sketching a doodle under 10-15 minutes
- Anything more & you’re spending too much time on it

Cute flower doodles are simple little drawings of flowers most often created with pen or ink but you can use any material you like. These flower doodles are cute due to their simplicity and lack of detail.
The point is to keep them quick and simple.
A good starting point is anything less than 10-15 minutes.
If you’re looking for the perfect pen to use when drawing cute flower doodles or quick pen drawings, check out this 0.5mm Staedtler pigment liner from Amazon here. It’s the one pen I use specifically for drawing doodles.
The ink flow is extremely consistent, permanent, & you get a pure solid black pigment, unlike other pens that have a blue or purplish tint to them. And what’s great about the 0.5mm tip is that you can create smooth dark lines that you can easily see but are thin enough to add fine details.
If you’d like to try a variety of different sizes ranging from 0.3mm to 1.0mm, this 4-pack of Staedtler pigment liners from Amazon is great way to try out different sizes and vary your line thickness and details. Plus you get 2 pens for free!
